Music curriculum

Music and the creative arts are an integral part of life at Beacon Hill. A range of performances and celebrations throughout the year encourage the students to share their musical skills in front of others. These include the Harvest, Carol Services (which take place at a local chapel), sharing afternoons and invitations to take part in the School's Celebration of Music.

Every student has a music, music and movement or Creative Arts session once a week. There are additional opportunities to develop singing skills, visit the Music Therapist or for the older students learn the trumpet, trombone or guitar.

Lunch time clubs encourage students to peruse their hobbies and presently we have a band club, keyboard club and recorder club.

Harvest 2006

Every year the school has a Harvest and a Carol Service. We use a local chapel for this. Parents and carers are invited to this service which involves songs, music and movement related to a theme. This year we had a 'scarecrow festival.'

Carol Service 2007

The whole school enjoyed a vibrant service at St. Joseph's College Chapel. The Primary School acted out the nativity story accompanied by carols, props, poems and sound effects provided by the Yr 11 Creative Arts team. We were also treated to a stunning version of 'Jingle Bells' by our brass group.
