First Aid - Year l0s have all successfully completed the St. Johns Ambulance First Aid Course and gained Certificates.
Still to come is -

Safety at Work = safety signs and safety wear
Safety in a Sports Centre - visit to Next Generation for guided tour
Railway Safety - Tour of Ipswich Station followed by train journey
Water Safety - Trip to Felixstowe re beach safety
The Year 11s have been continuing working towards their accreditation in Life Skills. They have looked at Citizenship, ICT, Personal Care and Preparation for Working Life. A visit by PC Fisher to talk about Bullying and a visit by PC Bevan to talk about Drugs was greatly appreciated by the groups.
Year 11s are now looking forward to starting the Health and Fitness section of the Life Skills programme. They will be going to Gainsborough Sports Centre to the Fitness Suite where they will monitor their fitness progress over a four week period.
Both groups are enjoying the College Links course each Wednesday. They have visited Otley College and Suffolk College and had the opportunity to try different activities that they may be able to continue with after leaving school. Pupils are completing the 'Preparation for Working Life' unit that helps with the transition from school to college/work. They are aware that support is available to them over this time and can therefore look forward to moving on with confidence.
All pupils are enjoying the course and achieving so much from it - we wish the Year 11s good luck with their accreditation and look forward to the summer term.
