At Beacon Hill 'Art' is a form of communication open to all children enabling them to explore their ideas, thoughts and feelings to their own level of satisfaction and enjoyment. It gives the children a cultural perspective; encourages the development of decision-making; problem-solving skills and social skills - working with adults and peers in a variety of creative situations within both the school and the wider community. At KS4 the pupils have the option to continue to Entry Level, following a two year programme of work leading to a final exam. 'Art' is often more easily accessed by children for whom other means of communication have proved difficult, it offers opportunities for individual success and encourages positive working attitudes.
