The Referral Process
- Following discussion at a school's planning meeting a referral form is completed and forwarded to the locality area Admin Assistant, Pupil Services. The Advisory Teacher / Educational Psychologist will inform schools of the referral meeting date and also the date that the referrals need to be in by.
- The referral forms are forwarded to the Inclusive Resource at Beacon Hill from each locality area after the closing date for referrals.
- The referral meeting will involve those in the Operational Group; a representative from the LSS or the EPS from each area, the Inclusive Resource Leader and Assistant Leader and a representative from the Satellite Outreach Teachers. This group will meet termly to discuss the referrals.
- After this meeting each locality area LEA will send a decision letter to schools. This will detail what will happen next if the referral has been accepted or explain the reasons if a referral has been turned down. Each locality office will produce an outcome sheet from the meeting and this will be circulated to Advisory Teachers, Educational Psychologists, a Health and a Social Care representative. The IR base at Beacon Hill will produce an update detailing current caseload following the meeting which will be forwarded to all those in the Strategic and the Operational groups and the SNO's, from each locality area.
- The IR base and Satellites will make direct contact with any professionals involved where appropriate, explaining the role of the County Inclusive Resource and inviting them to share information.
- Headteachers will be required to sign a Service Level Agreement to engage the support of the County Inclusive Resource.
