About Beacon Hill

Welcome to Beacon Hill School

You'll see in words, pictures and sound how all students take part in the whole spectrum of curriculum activities, each designed to ensure that they achieve the highest possible standards.

At Beacon Hill we work together in a vibrant, friendly and supportive environment, to encourage each member of our community to give of their best.

Our vision

To be a centre of excellence in a flexible network of provision, offering specialist education and care to students who have a range of learning difficulties and a need for support.

Our mission

Beacon Hill must offer a high quality of education within that climate of care where everyone has high expectations, everyone grows in self-esteem and self-confidence, and everyone learns how to value people.

Beacon Hill - a community school for
the 21st century

The first time you visit us you'll see why we think that Beacon Hill is the best. It's not just the light airy, purpose- built school with laboratory, technology rooms, library, music room, therapy room, Art room. sports hall, playing field, County Inclusive Resource and Primary in-reach. But, the buzz of purposeful activity, happy smiling faces that say ‘It's good to be here,’ staff committed to the best for each individual and a sense of belonging and community.

You'll see achievement - paintings, posters, sculptures and stories wherever you look, evidence of achievement - ndividual, personal and often very hard won. At Beacon Hill this is what we are about.

Learning and achieving skills such as communication and problem solving helps all our students to become well-rounded, independent people. But it doesn't just happen in the classroom - day trips to enrich the curriculum, activity holidays and work experience for example, widen horizons and develop greater confidence and self-esteem.

The needs of each student are identified and together with their families, carers and other key professionals we aim to help them become the best they can be.
